Saxophone enthusiasts, take a look at this beautiful silver-plated Selmer Mark VI tenor, serial number 164xxx, dating to 1969. Hand-crafted in Paris, France, this example represents a GREAT era of Mark VI production. This horn has been re-plated and features American engraving. It was recently given a complete professional overhaul in our shop. The body tube alignment was corrected, dent work addressed, and the instrument was meticulously hand-polished, restoring much of its original brilliance. While showing evidence of its long playing life, it remains in excellent condition overall. There is some plating wear in select areas, a few re-solders, and a small dent in the bottom bow that was intentionally left to preserve the silver plating. The original neck is free from major damage and has no pull down. Sonically, this is very much a player’s horn. It combines the projection and subtle edge imparted by the silver plate with the lush, dark core that defines Selmer’s legendary sound. Fully serviced and structurally sound, it is both a desirable vintage and a professional-level instrument ready for immediate use.
