Saxophone fans, check out this stunning Super Balanced Action alto that just came in for sale! This 52xxx serial number alto dates to 1953. Horns in this serial range are among the last Super Balanced Actions made before production of the Selmer Mark VI began. These are some of the most sought-after Selmers—free-blowing, with fantastic intonation and one of the warmest, roundest sounds you’ll find. This SBA features the Mark VI American engraving pattern on the front of the bell, further identifying it as part of the transitional period leading into the Mark VI. The original, serial number–matching neck is in perfect condition with no pull-down. There is no bottom bow damage, and over 98% of the beautiful original dark cellulose lacquer remains. This horn was recently overhauled by SaxQuest and, after a thorough comb-through by our shop, is sealing perfectly from top to bottom. This is truly a top-of-the-pile horn—exceptionally clean and an incredible player.
