It is not every day that a saxophone of this caliber comes into the shop: one from the world renowned “Michael Brecker” serial number range. We have seen horns in the 80xxx range of varying levels of condition, and this one would be classified as extremely good with estimated 90%+ of the original lacquer in tact! This one happens to be QUITE Close to Michael Brecker's actual Mark VI serial number which is 86,3xx. This is an absolutely incredible original lacquer 85,0XX 1960 Selmer Mark VI Tenor Saxophone American Engraved Fully Professionally Overhauled with no dents, no dings, and no re-solders! Even the bottom bow is miraculously undamaged. This horn was professionally owned and rarely played! The previous owner treated it carefully over their career and preserved its condition quite well. Even the pearls are quite crisp like new and feel wonderful to the touch! The original neck with matching 85xxx serial number is in great condition with NO neck pull down of any kind, and just some slight lacquer loss on the side. Even the blue Selmer S is still painted in! It is absolutely one of the best playing and sounding tenors we have ever had come through the shop. It is increasingly rare to see them in this condition with all of the boxes checked perfectly. This tenor was professionally overhauled outside of our shop but extensively checked and perfected. It now seals like a drum and is professionally set up by us! This is definitely one of the most incredible Saxophones we have ever had come through our sax shop.
