It is not every day that a saxophone of this caliber comes into the shop: one from the world renowned Michael Brecker serial number range. We have seen horns in the 80xxx range of varying conditions, however, this one might be the closest and CLEANEST one we have seen to Michael Brecker's actual Mark VI serial number which is 86,3xx. This is an absolutely incredible original lacquer 85,9xx 1960 Selmer Mark VI Tenor Saxophone American Engraved Fully Professionally Overhauled with no dents, no dings, and no re-solders! This horn was absolutely was professionally owned and rarely played. The owner treated it perfectly over their career and preserved its condition extremely well. Even the pearls are completely like new and sharp to the touch! Amazingly the original neck with matching 85xxx serial number still has all of its gorgeous dark original lacquer in tact and NO neck pull down of any kind. Even the blue Selmer S is still colored in! It is absolutely one of the best playing and sounding tenors we have ever had come through the shop. It is increasingly rare to see them in this condition with all of the boxes checked perfectly. This tenor was professionally overhauled outside of our shop but extensively checked and perfected. It now seals like a drum and is professionally set up by our shop! This is one of the most incredible Saxophones we have ever had come through our shop.
