It’s not every day that a saxophone of this caliber comes into the shop—especially one from the world-renowned “Michael Brecker” serial number range. WOW saxophone fans, check out this incredible Selmer Mark VI tenor that is now available for sale in our shop! This is an 85xxx Mark VI tenor dating back to 1960, hand-made in Paris, France. It features European engraving and retains a remarkable amount of its original lacquer. The original neck had a bit of pull-down that was professionally corrected and restored by our shop to its proper, original angle. The matching serial number is factory-etched into the underside of the neck’s octave mechanism, confirming its originality to the body. The bottom bow is free of any dents, as is the body tube. This tenor has just received a full professional overhaul by our shop and is sealing perfectly and playing incredibly. This is a prime example of an 85xxx serial number Mark VI tenor. In our opinion, these horns represent one of the finest serial ranges of Mark VIs ever produced—their depth of sound, power, and projection are truly unmatched.
