Our NEWEST release from JL Woodwinds: The Phoenix 86x Classic Reborn is our answer to the modern saxophonist that is looking for a tenor saxophone that truly plays, feels, and sounds like a GREAT Vintage Mark VI. As you might know over many years we have had some of the most museum quality perfect condition Vintage Selmer Mark VI Saxophones come through our sax shop. We have been very fortunate to have the privilege to restore and play test hundreds of these great horns and we discovered a few Selmer Mark VIs from the 86xxx Serial Range known as the Brecker Serial Range to perform and sound the absolute best. We have been working for over 4 consecutive years of prototyping testing and experimentation to refine the Phoenix 86x Tenor saxophone to perform at a level that “WOWED” even the highest level players in the world. But don’t take our word for it… have a listen and give one a try! Even though many others before us have tried and failed, we are confident that in time, the Phoenix 86x tenor will set a new standard for modern saxophones.
