Wow, saxophone fans—check out this incredible Mark VI tenor, now for sale on our website! You might recognize it from the “Coming Soon to the Bench” section of our site. This tenor has just completed a full overhaul in our shop and is now ready to find a new home. The 61xxx serial number dates it to the second year of Mark VI production, 1955. Overall, this tenor is exceptionally clean. Much of its beautiful dark honey-colored nitrocellulose lacquer remains, with only a few minor wear spots in commonly handled areas. The original neck, with matching serial number, is free from pull-down and in excellent condition. The bottom bow showed some signs of previous denting, but it was expertly and carefully addressed by our shop during the overhaul process. There are no re-solders or other significant dent repairs that resulted in lacquer loss. It has been fitted with seamless metal dome resonators and professional Italian leather pads. It seals perfectly and needs absolutely nothing. The sound of the 60xxx range of Mark VI tenors is unique and highly desirable. They are incredibly resonant, with outstanding projection built on the foundation of the iconic dark Selmer core. Don’t miss out on this amazing tenor—it won’t be here for long!
