Wow saxophone fans, take a look at the alto we just got in for sale... This is a 86xxx serial Mark VI alto that dates back to 1960. This puts it just within the range of the short production of 5 digit medium bow Mark VIs which were made from 75xxx to 87xxx. This is a truly incredible vintage of alto that are some of the best players and the most desirable ones! This particular alto is an amazing example. This alto is American engraved and has lots of its original lacquer left in tact. The bottom bow is clean from denting and the body is free from major dings, dents, and scratches. The original serial matching neck has seen a bit of damage from pull down in the past, but was professionally addressed and corrected by our shop. Additionally there was some necessary solder work done to the neck tenon by our shop resulting in a bit of lacquer loss during cleanup. This alto received an overhaul outside of our shop and after a thorough comb through by our shop it is sealing like a drum and playing effortlessly.
