Wow saxophone fans, check out this absolutely incredible Conn New Wonder I tenor that is now up for sale! This is one of very few Conn Artist Model tenors. The serial number dates it to a production date of 1923. This is a New Wonder I tenor that has rolled tone holes and a front F key. It features a one-of-a-kind portrait that is hand engraved on the front of the bell. On this particular tenor, it features a portrait of a cherub-like character with lots of lush floral engraving surrounding it. This Artist Model is even more distinctive because it is gold plated, and this is the original gold plating from 1923. For its age, this tenor is in absolutely incredible condition. The bottom bow is free from denting, and the original Conn neck is free from pull-down and is at the correct angle. This tenor just received a full overhaul from our shop and is sealing perfectly. These are some of the best-sounding tenor saxophones out there, and this one is certainly no exception. To see a Conn of this age in this good of shape is certainly rare, but an Artist Model with its original plating in this condition is not something we see often.
